Caragana
any Asiatic tree or shrub of the genus Caragana, of the pea family, having pinnately compound leaves and mostly yellow flowers, used as hedge plants in the U.S., especially in cold regions.
Historical Examples
caragana frutex, formerly called caragana frutescens, is a somewhat taller shrub and not quite so floriferous.
