acoustic game
a game that requires no electronic components. the term has been adopted by independent game designers as a way to distinguish a game as being non-electronic, without implying that such a game is “missing” something. acoustic games range from ancient games like chess and go to modern games like carc-ssonne and settlers of catan. the terms can also be applied to non-electronic versions of electronic games, like world of warcraft: the board game.
