the name of a prominent feminist filmmaker and video game critic, whose main project is “tropes vs women”, a youtube series showing her grievances in the way women are portrayed in video games. she claims that women are often overs-xualized, objectified, or shown to be a weak “damsel in distress” in video games. she is often criticized for her dishonesty about her funding for the series, her lack of extensive research on the video games she criticizes, and for not responding to legit criticism of her work.

easily amongst the most hated people on the internet; anita was the target of an internet har-ssment campaign primarily carried out by 4chan and reddit users when her project was still in pre-production. since “tropes vs women” has launched, she has been the victim of ddos attacks, leaking of her personal information, swatting, and the threat of a “columbine-like school m-ssacre” when scheduled to speak at utah state university.

the mere mention of her name in any blog post, youtube video, article, etc. is guaranteed to stir up a sh-t-storm of hateful and misogynistic comments. which is ironic, because these people har-ssing her are the ones that want her to shut up and go away. and through their own hateful comments, they made her one of the most prominent people in the video game world.

person 2: “yeah, and i think it’s full of cr-p and sub-par research. but that doesn’t justify the hate she’s been getting on the internet.”
