a person who collects and enjoys teddy bears. unlike “plushophile”, this word almost never implies a s-xual fetish–only a sentimental interest.
frannie is a serious arctophile if i ever met one: not only did she have wall-to-wall shelves built for her teddy bear collection, but she also bought a database program just to catalog each bear by age and manufacturer.
