Ayuthaya
once the ancient capital of thailand, today a small satellite of the bangkok megapolis.
it has many interesting ruins, good value boat cruises, and delicious restaurants by the river. a great place to visit.
it also has badly maintained roads, speeding drunk drivers in pickups, a serious problem with meth (yaba) , and garbage clogging the c-n-ls.
translation of two thais from bangkok talking:
person 1: i’m moving to ayuthaya
person 2: that upcountry ghost town? why?
