Basij
an iranian volunteer militia created by the order of the ayatollah khomeini in november 1979, and implemented beginning in 1980.
the basij are subordinate to, the iranian revolutionary guard corps (pasdaran) and are under the control of the supreme leader of iran, currently ayatollah khamenei.
