a term originally coined by australian rock ‘n’ roll troubadour tim rogers for the bonus disc of you am i’s third alb-m hourly daily. after being adopted by mods from the eastern suburbs of melbourne, the term is now synonymous with wild parties where; 60’s music, erratic dancing, and suits so fine they make sinatra look like a hobo are all common place.
boy 1: “did you hear? ben is having a beat party! tonight, better suit up get our lambretta’s down there.”
boy 2: “ok, i’ll get my parka.”
