one of those words that no matter how many times you type it you always spell wrong. it is almost entirely a phenomenon of the digital age in which the majority of written communication is produced through a series of strokes on a keyboard. while the term may also appear in hand-written or otherwise produced doc-mentation, its occurrence there stems more from poor spelling skills than tactile misfires. see also appreacite
