the security breakdown and subsequent apparent cover-up by the obama administration related to a terrorist attack on the u.s. consulate and death of an amb-ssador and others in benghazi, libya on september 11th, 2012. government officials were first directed to blame the terrorist attack and murders on an anti-muslim amateur youtube video. it was later discovered by the press that the amateur video was not the cause and it was not a spontaneous demonstration as first said, but rather a terrorist attack. questions surfaced as to the cia knowing it was a terrorist attack from the start, but “talking points” being changed by administration officials for reasons ranging from unknown to it being so close to a u.s. presidential election.
person 1: “what’s going on with benghazigate?”
person 2: “i don’t know, last i heard was hillary said “what difference does it make now?” and there are accusations that survivors and some officials were being told to stay quiet.

informed person: you do realize that during bush’s tenure as president, there were 13 attacks on u.s. emb-ssies abroad, which resulted in more than 60 deaths? how many outraged republicans were there then?

teabagger: it didn’t happen!! you liberals made it up!!

a “scandal” related to the 9/11/2012 consulate attack in benghazi, libya in which the obama administration allegedly “covered up” evidence. in actuality, a conspiracy theory pushed by fox news and republicans with the intent of manipulating public opinion and distracting attention from the complete and utter dysfunction of the republican-controlled congress. tea party parrots still stand by the original version of events even though a chief eye-witness of this account was exposed as a fraud and cbs news had to retract their “bomsh-ll” report about the cover-up.
there’s no denying the tragedy that took place on that day. but the “scandal” known as benghazigate has about as much basis in reality as birtherism and ancient alien theory. but what do you expect from a group of people who would believe president obama was a reptilian from alpha centauri if fox news said so.
