verb. the action of not sharing something meant to be shared, or over-using or consuming something that belongs to someone else. to hog something that doesn’t belong to you or to take more than your share.
contrary to the popular belief that the term has something to do with actor humphrey bogart, the term refers to a household fairy of english folklore, a boggart, that would cause items to disappear.
