1. verb: to enter a guessed word in a crossword puzzle.
2. noun: the word so entered.
the word “borcle” was entered in a cryptic crossword by a friend as a guess, given the letters _o_c_e (the correct answer turned out to be “touche”). since then (about 12 years ago) the word has been used locally and i think deserves a wider currency.
