bubblegum dance
a type of eurodance that usually has silly lyrics and happy sounds. usually females sing the chorus, for it is usually high-pitched. males sing backup lyrics or other vocal parts.
more of a pop sound than eurodance. really came around in 1995 when me & my released their alb-m. recognized worldwide when aqua realeased their alb-m ‘aquarium’.
scandinavia and denmark (where it originated) produce many bubblegum dance artists, but they are all around the world.
dance dance revolution (and other ddr games) includes many songs that fall under the bubblegum dance genre.
aqua, bambee, me & my, ch!pz, venga boys, smile.dk, miss papaya and toy-box are all considered bubblegum dance
