portmanteau of the words “burp” and “fart.” describes a particularly malodorous and rancid release of gas from the digestive tract (mainly esophagus and stomach) through the mouth, commonly occurring after a snack of raw broccoli. often mistaken with -n-l flatulence (a fart).
