Canarble Wagon
a small drink cart that carries alcohol and alcohol accessories. typically rolled out at 5pm.
the term was coined by chicago reporter, jim johnson: “when i was covering city hall, there was a reporter there who liked to have a few drinks before — and occasionally during — the press conferences. when it came time to head out for after-work c-cktails, he’d already be slurring his words, and he’d loudly suggest that we all head out for a few ‘canarbles.’ we didn’t know what word he was actually trying to say, but we knew what he meant.”
the faster we get through jim’s news, the faster we get the canarble wagon.
