Central Coast

possibly one of the most boring regions in california. includes the cities of santa cruz, monterey, salinas, paso robles, atascadero, morro bay, san luis obispo, 5 cities, nipomo, santa maria(i lived here), guadalupe(and here), lompoc, santa ynez, buellton, solvang, santa barbara, goleta, carpinteria, oxnard and ventura. i lived on the central coast for a total of 12 years. all the bullsh-t about the amazing weather on the coasts is not true. on an average day, fog rolls in the evening by a strong cold sea breeze and lasts until late morning. other than that, it is sunny, windy or cloudy. that’s why this region is one of the most drought stricken in the state. you’d be lucky to get a rainstorm once or twice in the winter. there is nothing to do here but go to the beach, play golf, hiking, biking, cruising on highway 1 or the hilly roads, watersports on the drying lakes, and if you’re 21+, wine tasting. there is hardly any nightlife unless you go to sb or slo. my high school years here were the worst years of my life. if you don’t party, get high or drunk, listen to country or pop(basically the same bullsh-t music), or go to the loud–ss football games, fair, or the elks rodeo, all because there is nothing else to do here, you will have a boring, miserable time. i’m lucky enough to have been born and have family in chicago, il to immediately move there after graduation. and i won’t miss anything other than the rolling oak-studded hills and family and friends that live here.

refers to the california counties of san luis obispo, santa barbra, and ventura. they all share a similar lifestyle and the 805 area code. on the central coast we party hard, f-ck hard, ride hard and always bang that sur 13. in fact the central coast is home to dozens of sureno gangs including atascadero’s notorious southern locos gang who put the busters to shame.
