Corn Leavins
the overabundance of corn stalks washed-up onto a rural backroad after a seemingly endless indiana rainfall. it is common to have rainwater drainage problems in podunk indiana and, consequently, locals’ front yards and farmers’ cornfields get flooded like an indochinese monsoon. the remaining result is corn stalks known as “corn leavins” that have mysteriously washed up onto the road like seaweed washed up to sh-r-.
kyle: “look at all these corn leavins! i can’t drive down this road in my honda cr-x, i gotta turn around.”
r.j.: “boy howdy! it’s corn leavins season already? that means summer’s a-comin’ soon!”
