cosmoport
from the greek word ‘κοσμος, meaning ‘universe’ or ‘world,’ and from the second part of the word ‘p-ssport’.
as director of the center for global studies at morgan state university for ten years, i ( zekeh gbotok-ma) founded and edited a newsletter that i called cosmoport.
i coined this neologism in 2000. it is based on my philosophy of international education called ‘cosmoportism.’ it is the belief that international education is the 21st-century’s p-ssport and global positioning system (gps), so to speak, to comfortably navigate the global village. it is the key to global compet-tiveness. therefore, n-body should be allowed to graduate from any university today without becoming globally competent. see ‘cosmoportism.’
