counseled-out
if a student has had a catastrophic experience, a tragedy, an emotional upheaval that leaves that student unable to physically sit through cl-ss, has not slept in over 18 hours, is unable to complete course work, and/ or does not feel prepared for the next day’s -ssignment(s)/-ssessment(s), a student may ask to be counseled-out and counselors may counsel a student out of cl-ss; they may also discuss the possibility of the student’s going to the clinic, going home, or some other means by which to handle the situation.
“kevin, i can’t counsel you out again unless you’re on fire. do you understand that?”
“um yeah, i just counseled-out of 18 cl-sses. g-d i hate second trimester.”
