a term used in the popular video games call of duty: world at war and call of duty: black ops when playing the zombie mode.

it refers to a zombie which has had its legs blown off by a grenade. these zombies are typically extremely slow, but can be dangerous if a player is not vigilant.

because a round does not start until all zombies are killed, they are often kept alive at the end of rounds to purchase ammo, perks, and guns without starting the next round.

(the round doesn’t shift until every zombie has been killed therefore players have as much time as they please if they turn the last zombie into a “crawler.”)
