Cubist Phase
1. point in an artist’s career where they go batsh-t insane and start producing very abstract/ avant-garde pieces of art.
2. excuse used when an artist has gone off the deep end and/or produces sub-par works.
(note: i don’t consider cubism as a whole to be subpar in any way, and i am actually quite partial to it)
