acute tuberculosis n.
A rapidly fatal disease in which tubercle bacilli are disseminated by the blood, resulting in the formation of miliary tubercles in various organs and tissues and in profound toxemia. Also called acute miliary tuberculosis, disseminated tuberculosis.
Historical Examples

Its predisposing causes, in all probability, are identical with those of acute tuberculosis.
