Cervical longissimus muscle
cervical longissimus muscle n.
A muscle with origin from the transverse processes of the upper thoracic vertebrae, with insertion into the transverse processes of the middle and upper cervical vertebrae, with nerve supply from the dorsal branches of the lower cervical and the upper thoracic nerves, and whose action extends the cervical vertebrae.
