Communicable disease


communicable disease n.
A disease that is transmitted through direct contact with an infected individual or indirectly through a vector. Also called contagious disease.

Any disease transmitted from one person or animal to another; also called contagious disease. Sometimes quarantine is required to prevent the spread of disease.
