promyelocyte pro·my·e·lo·cyte (prō-mī’ə-lə-sīt’)
n.
A cell containing a few granules formed in the transition from myeloblast to myelocyte during the development of a granulocyte; it is the predominant cell type seen in granulocytic leukemia. Also called granular leukoblast, progranulocyte.
