“Sesame Street” definition

An educational television program for preschool children, particularly aimed at disadvantaged children, that began in the late 1960s. “Sesame Street” teaches awareness of letters and numbers and combines live actors, animation, and puppets (Muppets) in a great number of small segments, many of them musical.
