Short extensor muscle of toes
short extensor muscle of toes n.
A muscle with its origin from the dorsal surface of the calcaneus, with insertion by four tendons to those of the long extensor muscle of the toes and by a slip to the base of the proximal phalanx of the big toe, with nerve supply from the deep peroneal nerve, and whose action extends the toes.
