thymic alymphoplasia n. Thymic hypoplasia that includes an absence of Hassall’s concentric corpuscles and a deficiency of lymphocytes in the thymus and usually in the lymph nodes, spleen, and gastrointestinal tract.
- Thymic corpuscle
thymic corpuscle n. Any of numerous small spherical bodies found in the medulla of the lobules of the thymus, composed of keratinized, usually squamous, epithelial cells arranged around clusters of degenerating lymphocytes, eosinophils, and macrophages. Also called Hassall’s concentric corpuscle.

thymic vein n. Any of the small veins from the thymus that empty into the left brachiocephalic vein.
