Vocal muscle
vocal muscle n.
A muscle with origin from the depression between the two laminae of the thyroid cartilage, with insertion into the vocal process of the arytenoid, with nerve supply from the recurrent laryngeal nerve, and whose action shortens and relaxes the vocal cords.
