Acute fulminating meningococcal septicemia occurring mainly in children under 10 years old and characterized by vomiting, diarrhea, extensive purpura, cyanosis, convulsions, and circulatory collapse, usually accompanied by meningitis and hemorrhage into the adrenal glands.
