Endocannabinoid: A marijuana-like substance. “Marijuana-like substances (endocannabinoids)… act at specific receptors on the blood vessel wall to produce vasodilation….” (NIH News Advisory). Endocannabinoid is abbreviated EC.

Many bones are formed this way, particularly the long bones of the arms, legs, and ribs. “Endochondral” means “within cartilage.”
