Enterovirus
About two weeks ago, the first death in Canada was recorded in a 25-year-old man who had a history of severe asthma. The patient did not show muscle paralysis or other neurological changes seen in a few other patients. This patient was a young adult, and this illustrates the fact that infrequently adults may become infected with EV-D68.
