The autoimmune polyendocrinopathy syndrome goes by a confusing array of other names including autoimmune polyglandular syndrome (APS), polyglandular autoimmune syndrome (PGA), autoimmune polyendocrinopathy-candidiasis-ectodermal dystrophy (APECED), hypoadrenocorticism with hypoparathyroidism and superficial moniliasis, and polyglandular deficiency syndrome.
