AIIM
Short for Association for Information and Image Management AIIM is an international ECM non-profit organization that provides education, research and best practices to help organizations find, control and optimize their business information including including documents, content, records and business processes. AIIM was founded in 1943 as the National Microfilm Association and later became the Association for Information and Image Management. Today, AIIM is international in scope, independent, implementation-focused, and, as the representative of the entire ECM industry — including users, suppliers, and the channel — acts as the industry’s intermediary.

Short for Advanced Intelligent Tape, a magnetic tape storage system developed by Sony. AIT uses 8mm cassette tapes that can hold up to 100GB of data. AITs use helical scan technology and typically are used in data backup and data storage. Compare with DLT.
- AIX
Acronym for Advanced Interactive eXecutive, a version of UNIX produced by IBM. AIX runs on a variety of computers, including PCs and workstations. AIX incorporates elements of System V, BSD, and OSF/1, as well as features to make administering, AIX somewhat different from working with other Unix implementations.
