quantize matrix
The 8×8 blocks of numbers used by the encoder to perform the best optimization for the appropriate video format. Quantization matrices are used to decide how accurately the frequencies present in the image need to be represented. Lower frequencies use lower quantization and produce a higher accuracy.

- quantum computing
First proposed in the 1970s, quantum computing relies on quantum physics by taking advantage of certain quantum physics properties of atoms or nuclei that allow them to work together as quantum bits, or qubits, to be the computer’s processor and memory. By interacting with each other while being isolated from the external environment, qubits can […]
- quantum dot
A nano-scale crystalline structure made from cadmium selenide that absorbs white light and then reemits it a couple of nanoseconds later in a specific color. The quantum dot has been around since the 1980s when scientists were looking into the technology as a way to build nano-scale computing applications where light is used to process […]
- quarantine
To move an infected file, such as a virus, into an area where it cannot cause more harm. Antivirus softwares come with quarantine options so that the user also can keep track of virus activity.
- qubit
A quantum bit. The smallest unit of information in quantum computing. Qubits hold an exponentially larger amount of information than traditional bits.
- Query (Database Query)
(n.) A query is a request for information from a database. There are three general methods for posing queries: Choosing parameters from a menu: In this method, the database system presents a list of parameters from which you can choose. This is perhaps the easiest way to pose a query because the menus guide you, […]
