Smartdrive
A disk caching system provided by Microsoft with later versions of DOS and used with Windows 3.1. Disk caching provides faster access to data on a hard disk. Smartdrive allows you to monitor how the cache is used and change the cache size to optimize performance.
Starting with Windows 95, Smartdrive was replaced by a disk caching system called VCACHE.
