SURBL
Short for Spam URI Real-time Block Lists, it is used to detect spam based on message body URIs (usually Web sites). SURBLs are not used to block spam senders. Instead they allow you to block messages that have spam hosts that are mentioned in message bodies. In order to use SURBL you need software that can parse URIs in message bodies, extract their hosts, and check those against a SURBL list.

- SVC
Short for switched virtual circuit, a temporary virtual circuit that is set up and used only as long as data is being transmitted. Once the communication between the two hosts is complete, the SVC disappears. In contrast, a permanent virtual circuit (PVC) remains available at all times.
- SVCD
Short for Super Video CD, SVCD is a CD standard developed by Chinese consumer electronics manufacturers, the Chinese government and VCD consortium.
