Sybase


Based in Emeryville, California, one of the dominant software companies in the area of database management systems (DBMS’s) and client/server programming environments. Its DBMS products are branded with the Sybase name, whereas its client/server products, chiefly PowerBuilder, are branded with the name PowerSoft. PowerSoft Corporation started as an independent software company but merged with Sybase in 1995.
