the narrative genre which focuses on the plight of the urban disadvantaged (seen in charles d-ckens tales) mixed with intricately tragic plots and complex human characters (trademarked by william shakespeare).
hbo’s “the wire” is the epitome of the d-ck-speare genre, focusing on the plight of youths in baltimore, and providing plot twists and tragic heroes which would move even the bard.
