doc-mentia: the onset of impaired cognitive abilities due to the repeated viewing of doc-mentaries exposing the myths of justice, ethics and fairness towards the global planet. it may be static, the result of a unique global doc-mentary exposé, or progressive, resulting in long-term decline due to collaborating but otherwise disparate viewings of individual doc-mentaries.. although doc-mentia is far more common in the geriatric population, it can occur before the age of 65, in which case it is termed “early onset doc-mentia”. the advent of world wide “common man” communications continues to pull back the emerald curtain on the activities of the world bank and corporate megalomaniacs. comprehension, too quickly digested, is the leading cause of doc-mentia resulting in a pandemic of frenetic p-ssionate dinner party rhetoric based solely on netflix video consumption

syndrome old technical writers get, especially those in the technical writing too long. symptoms include forgetfulness, confusing simple words like there and their (words that have been commonplace for their entire careers) and replacing pictures with 1,000 words each. similar to alzheimer’s or dementia in the average public.
the tech writer knew he had succ-mbed to doc-mentia when he replaced a photograph of a beautiful sunset with a corresponding 1,000 word description.

the grueling, boring act of doc-menting large software systems, when none of the knowledgable staff is willing to -ssist in providing content nor review, and management is unwilling to provide funding nor direction for those responsible for completing the task.
