fade-back


v. nt. the act of withdrawing onesself from the group of friends with the intentions of meeting up with a member of the opposite s-x. usually occurs while travelling between bars or parties.

some common fade-back techniques:
– random phone call during which the fader speaks outside or behind the group for an elongated span of time and eventually just leaves.
– the “i’ll catch up with you guys” line
– “i’ve got to go get my friend”
“jim, what happened to adam?”
-“i dunno, he’s been us with us the whole night.”
“oh yeah, he was acting kinda shady when he got that call. on the way he was walking like 10 feet behind all of us”
-“i smell a fade-back”
