fauxcoming (noun) – an outing where one gets ready for a dance, homecoming in particular, by dressing up, taking pictures, eating dinner, and so on. but does not attend the dance, and instead has a way better night.
on the night of the high school homecoming dance, the girls dressed up, took pictures, ate dinner, and went bowling all together creating a wonderful fauxcoming.
