Fish on Thursdays
in the 1800s in new york, fisherman would bring their catch to market on wednesdays. on thursday, left over fish would be left to rot and fish markets reeked. as it was the 1800s, basic hygiene had not been invented yet, so when fishermen went home to their wives and smelled their v-g-n-s, they would remark “this smells like fish on thursdays.” thus, a legend was born.
“wow honey, your v-g-n- smells worse than fish on thursdays!”
“d-mn this tuna is good, but it smells like fish on thursdays.”
