fresh hook
used in southern canadian cities such as toronto to refer to a fresh one-liner or half-bar from the start of a song. especially when the chorus forms the hook or contains the t-tle of the song and is used ironically to ridicule someone.
“you saying you ‘started from the bottom’ fam? now you just poor over there too!”
a heckler in the crowd: “ohh! he hit you with that fresh hook!”
