adj; describes a person (usually female) who dislikes shopping. connotation is that the dislike stems from an intense primness regarding expenditures. possibly linked to a reluctance to exert or express oneself s-xually.
often used snidely to refer specifically to a female reluctance to purchase lingerie. body image issues may be hinted at.
thought to be a blend of ‘frugal’ and ‘frigid’.
stereotype#1: my wife’s out shoppin’– i’m goan be broke.
