the spark of elation and desire experienced when discovering an inanimate object that makes you realize that the object is necessary to complete your sense of self. you do not merely want it, you do not merely need it, you are struck with the sudden understanding that the object contains a spark of your soul that you didn’t even know you were missing. it is as if a door in the house of your spirit has opened up revealed the object in an old room long forgotten.
walking away from the object giving rise to geistershaffen is likely to cause existential trauma.
