put simply, the most amazing store ever.
not everyone who shops there is poor or looking for “vintage” clothes. some people, like moi for example, shop there b/c they actually like finding random clothing that’s already worn in and has a story behind it.
much cheaper and easier than shopping at wal-mart or the mall
goodwill is an especially good place to shop if you’re friends with the manager, and, subsequently, sometimes get items for free
a community-based store specilaizing in discount merchandise intended for those ‘less fortuntante’ — but recently becoming very popular with the emo-blogger crowd looking to score cheap deals on ugly vintage clothes and vinyl records.
my friend holley bought a dress for prom for $3.99 at goodwill.
in theory: a community store used to provide clothes, ect. for the unfortunate.
in reality: a place where upper middle cl-ss children pretend that they are poor by buying ripped jeans and nasty t-shirts.
let’s go to goodwill
a factor of humanity that is lacking in most people. good will is the basic component of “good people,” that is, those who are nonmalignant, those with clean motives, and those who possess a lack of cruelty and viciousness.
1) show some good will to this homeless man; buy him some coffee.
2) where is the good will in men? i find only selfishness, hate, and the profanity of the good.
verb. to donate any of your belongings to the goodwill store for the ‘less fortunate’.
“oh hey, i don’t want this. let’s goodwill it.”
a place that is supposed to help the less fortunate, but instead charges way too much on items that were donated to them. the store should change its name to not so goodwill, because the prices are ridiculous.
person 1: oh my goodness, why is goodwill selling couches for $100?
person 2: wow, they used to sell them for $15
person 1: and these used shirts are $8. that is robbery
person 2: man, goodwill doesn’t help the needy at all. they are just trying to make a profit. they turned a homeless woman away that was begging for a coat the other day.
person 1 : that is terrible. goodwill should be called not so goodwill
