gorgonic
a nonspecific adjective that could possibly be derived from the greek monster, the gorgon. the obvious meaning would be “monstrous,” but the word is actually employed in any number of circ-mstances to mean huge, pungent, powerful, loud, old, and a variety of other things. in truth, it is meant to be a false adjective, thrown into sentences to see if people are truly listening or if they’re just pretending to understand what you say.
