Greek Creeping

greek creeping is in reference to the greek system found on many college campuses. the greek system most commonly includes fraternity and sorority chapters. the act of greek creeping is where non-college students (typically high school aged) will drive or walk through a university’s greek row (neighborhood/street of fraternity and/or sorority houses) to observe and be entertained by the activities and behaviors of the college students that may either be; walking outside, entering, leaving or inside the greek houses. these activities and behaviors being observed, more often than not, are related to the consumption of alcohol, the act of partying and/or displaying very visible signs of drunkenness–all of which are rather entertaining to observe from an outsider’s point of view.

individuals engaging in the act of greek creeping do not engage in the activities that the college students (greeks) are partaking in, as this would defeat the purpose of ‘observing’ them.

greek creeping is most entertaining when done on ‘party nights’ (evenings of the week that are best known for parties by college students). the surest of these days are friday and sat-rday evenings, however on some college campuses certain majors get certain days off which allow for other evenings to be opportune for college parties as well.
sam: “what should we do tonight?”
karen: “i’m not feeling like spending any money for a movie or anything, lets go greek creeping”
sam: “sounds good, we should walk by alpha delta phi for sure, i hear they have awesome parties on thursdays”
