Guera

mexican-spanish slang for a white girl or light-haired girl. it is a jargon from mexico that is also used by chicanos within the united states. english-language speakers who are not familiar with the origins of spanish words (or don’t care to become educated about them) can become misinformed into believing that one culture’s mumbo-jumbo is widely accepted by other spanish-language societies. guera (or guero, for males) is not a word that is familiar among native-spanish speakers from countries such as cuba, santo domingo, puerto rico, chile, argentina, etc.

a term used for latinas who have a fairer complexion and lighter hair/eyes than their more darker latina counterparts. it is not the same as a “gringa.” it is important to note that in the spelling there is an umlaut above the letter “u” giving it a “w” sound, pr-nounced like “weda”. can be either derogatory or complimentary given the circ-mstances. the masculine form would be guero.
boy #1: wow, she’s mexican? i would never have guessed she was with her green eyes and blonde hair.
boy #2: ya, she’s just a guera.

guera just means a lighter mexican female a lighter mexican male would be guero.if some1 has lighter skin, hair, eyes etc.
however, gringa means some1 who is white non-hispanic, guera is just used for someone who is just lighter.
