armenians who during the armenian genocide, survived in their homeland. hayastanci’s are armenians from armenia itself. other forms of armenians include lebanese armenians, persian armenians and some others. the reason for the seperation in the race is due to the armenian genocide which was carried out by the ottomon empire turks in the years of 1915. the turks were planning to exterminate all armenians, thus causing many to evacuate to other countries. after the genocide, the seperation of the armenian people has haunted them till this day.
